Finding Your Nearest Washroom Has Never Been Easier: Introducing the GoHere App
Living with urinary incontinence means that knowing where the nearest washroom is isn’t just a convenience: it’s a necessity. Whether you’re running errands, meeting friends, or simply trying to stay active, the unpredictability of leakage can make leaving the house feel like a logistical challenge. A new app is helping to change that.
What Is GoHere?
GoHere: Washroom Locator is a free app that helps users quickly find available public washrooms in their immediate area. Originally launched in Ontario by Crohn’s and Colitis Canada, the app was designed for people who need reliable, fast access to washroom facilities, and it is just as relevant for those managing urinary incontinence.
Each listed washroom includes:
- Exact location so you can navigate directly there
- Open and closed hours so you’re never caught off guard
- Website and telephone number for the facility
- A virtual Access Card that can be shown when requesting washroom access in locations that may not be publicly open
Where is it available?
GoHere has been expanding its washroom mapping across Canada. Currently, the app covers:
- Greater Vancouver Region, British Columbia
- Greater Toronto Area, Ontario
- Regions across Alberta
Coverage continues to grow, making it an increasingly useful tool for Canadians in urban centres.
Why This Matters for Those Managing Incontinence
For men managing urinary incontinence, urgency, and frequency of urination can be a daily reality. Many men admit to planning their entire day around bathroom access: avoiding long outings, skipping social events, or restricting fluids just to feel more in control.
GoHere helps remove some of that mental load. Knowing that a washroom map is available at your fingertips can make it easier to step out with confidence, stay active, and engage in activities that support both physical and emotional well-being.
A Small Tool That Supports a Bigger Goal
At Contino®, we know that managing incontinence isn’t just about the device or the treatment: it’s about reclaiming the freedom to live your life. Tools like GoHere are a practical part of that picture. They won’t replace treatment, but they can reduce the daily anxiety that comes with uncertainty, and that matters.
If you haven’t already, GoHere is available to download on iOS and Android.
